ARMATEX® Silicone/Intumescent Coated Fabrics are flexible coated fabrics that are non-toxic, have no odor, low heat release and low smoke, and are refractory fire resistant.

Intumescent coating is made with a protective substance that is activated by a heat generating chemical reaction. The initiation of this reaction causes the intumescent particles to swell and form an insulating layer on a surface, with or without release of water. The key feature of intumescents is that they expand significantly when exposed to high temperatures, such as those found in a fire. Therefore, this type of coating provides a cost-effective as well as practical solution for fire protection.

Coated on one side with an intumescent coating and the other side with silicone rubber, ARMATEX® SIF Silicone/Intumescent Coated Fabrics are designed for applications including cargo covers, fire and smoke barriers, and construction protective barriers, and are excellent for both indoor and outdoor use.
