Francis Charles Adlam founded Alifabs on the 20th of September 1957. The company started its trading life supplying aluminium building products and lightweight structures to the construction industry. Many of Alifabs’ early products were patented and soon gained industry recognition and accreditation as being the best. Today the Alifabs coping system is still the only product on the market to have gained the BBA (British Board of Agrément) certification as testament to its superior quality. Alifabs’ reputation and expertise in the construction industry led to the company being selected to undertake a number of large international contracts. The success of these projects soon resulted in Alifabs designing and constructing the Visual Control Room for Sharjah International Airport, United Arab Emirates. This installation was to be the first of some 50 airport control rooms to date in 24 different countries which has established Alifabs’ reputation as the most experienced company worldwide.
