Airpower Unlimited, LLC started business in March of 1988 in Twin Falls, Idaho and one year later moved to their current location in Jerome, Idaho it was started by John and Nancy Lane.
John was no stranger to the business of warbird restoration and maintenance. He was a founding member of the Arizona Wing of the Confederate Air Force at Falcon Field, restoring, maintaining and flying the B-17G Sentimental Journey. He was also the Director of Maintenance and Restoration for Champlin Fighter Museum in Mesa, Arizona.
In addition to John’s skills as a restoration specialist, he has flown aerial tankers, holds a Reciprocating Flight Engineers’ Rating for Constellations and the B-29’s-FIFI and Fertile Myrtle, has an unlimited letter from the FAA to fly all makes and models single and multi-engine Piston powered aircraft. John is a check airman for the Fighter Formation Qualification Program. John has served as crew chief for Reno Air Race planes and worked on numerous movie and a TV series. John’s interest stems back to his father, John H. Shady” Lane, who was a six victory “Ace” in the Pacific, flying P-39’s, P-38’s and P-47’s out of New Guinea.
