Charlie Belcher grew up loving airplanes. His family business owned a Lockheed 12A and a Twin Beech. After serving in the United States Army Charlie decided in 1971 to learn to fly. After two years as a disc jockey and part time flight instructor, Charlie along with three other partners founded Appalachian Flying Service, a charter service and flight school in Bluefield, West Virginia. 1975 was the year that Charlie began his career as a Corporate Pilot. He was off to Wichita for King Air 200 School and a new job as a King Air 200 copilot. Charlie earned type ratings in the Citation 500 series aircraft, CitationJet, Lear Jet, Westwind, Falcon 50/900, Beechcraft Premier and is qualified in all models of the Beechcraft King Air. Charlie holds an Airline Transport Pilot Rating, Certified Flight Instructor Rating and has almost 17,000 hours of flying time.
