What is a "preighter"? In German, "Prachter" is a mixture of the words passenger aircraft and cargo aircraft. In English, "preighter" is a mixture of passenger and freighter. Simply put, Austrian Technik has converted part of its fleet to provide airlifts of personal protective equipment from Asia to Europe, helping in the fight against COVID-19. Cargo can be stored in the aircraft hold as well as in the passenger cabin, including overhead bins and under seats.
