GE Aerospace has begun using its 360 Foam Wash system in its MRO shops before inspections to improve accuracy and reduce the chances of an engine reinduction. Through continued performance improvements, GE has reduced the wash time on widebody engines to 2-4 hours, and it is looking at how to translate these savings to narrowbody operators. More than 6,000 washes have been completed with the technology since 2017, saving up to three times more fuel than traditional water-based washes. GE estimates this has also reduced annual CO2 emissions on GEnx-powered Boeing 787s by 70 tons and on GE90-powered 777s by 380 tons. We have eight licensed airline customers for 360 Foam Wash across GE90, GEnx, CF34 and GP7200 engine platforms, and 100% of Middle East GEnx operators have adopted the technology.
