Met Engineering Ltd.
Conceived in the late 1980s by two experienced U.K. Met Office engineers, MetEngUK acquired its first two customers in 1991; one a regional airport, the other a professional sporting organisation.
Meteorological Engineering Limited was incorporated in April 1997, after which the business developed moderately, mostly in the aviation sector. Considerable expansion took place in 2002/3 after a name change to Met Engineering Limited, a move into larger premises, and the start of a staff recruitment programme.
Since then, the company, now Met Engineering Limited, has secured most of the U.K.’s regional airports as regular customers for its engineering and calibration services. It also provides expertise in meteorological systems and professional weather instrumention to several other sectors including chemicals and pharmaceuticals, ports and harbours and sports and leisure.
MetEngUK increasingly exports products, engineering and calibration services to parts of Western Europe, East Africa, South and Southeast Asia.
