Tavis Corporation founded in 1969, has been manufacturing Variable Reluctance pressure transducers for the Aircraft industry since its beginning, starting with flight test instrumentation for the McDonnell Douglas DC-10. In 1973 Tavis Corporation entered the Space and Satellite market furnishing pressure transducers for Martin Marietta for use on the Viking Lander program.

Since that time Tavis Corporation has become a major supplier of highly accurate, rugged and reliable pressure transducers for the Satellite, Spacecraft, and Aircraft industries. Space programs for which Tavis Corporation has furnished pressure transducers include the Space Shuttle Orbiter and External Tank; Atlas and Atlas Centaur launch vehicles; Delta IV launch vehicle; Mars Global Surveyor, Jupiter Galileo, and Deep Impact spacecraft; Mars Pathfinder and Rover landers; DSP, AXAF, STEP, HEOS and EOS satellites; Hughes 376, HS601 and 701 communication satellite platforms; various classified satellites; and multiple Space Station critical pressure and flow applications.
