Geral Hasten, President and founder of TSI started as a Jet engine mechanic in1965. He soon transferred to inspector, assembly quality control manager, field service technician and customer service representative. In 1980 he set up the first satellite turbine shop in the USA for Cooper Airmotive / Aviall now known as Dallas Airmotive. In 1986 he left Aviall and took a job with Standard Aero as Pratt & Whitney Product Director. He started a new product line for the company, the Pratt & Whitney PT6 engine overhaul and repair shop in Winnipeg Canada. He also set up the first satellite turbine shop for Standard in the USA. In 1988 Geral left Standard Aero and went to Denver, Colorado for Turbo West. There he became the Maintenance Sales Director. His duties included managing repairs and overhauls of Pratt & Whitney JT15D and PT6 engines.

In 1989 he returned to the Dallas area and in 1992 Geral started his own company, Intech Aviation which later expanded into TSI, Turbine Source Int'l.
