SVC has launched 37 vehicles to date (see SVC Vehicles Brochure) with program turnaround times (inception to launch) as short as 8 months. SVC has also provided flight subsystems such as cold gas attitude control systems (ACS), guidance and control platforms, and vehicle structures on over 250 space flights for domestic and international customers.
SVC's initial focus was on scientific customers such as the Naval Research Laboratory, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Air Force Geophysics Lab. Starting in 1979, SVC expanded its services to support major Department of Defense (DoD) space test programs. Among these are the U.S. Army Homing Overlay Experiment (HOE), Exoatmospheric Reentry Interceptor System (ERIS), Queen Match, and PLV Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) programs.
Space Vector support to the DoD has included providing targets for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (Now Missile Defense Agency, MDA) starting with the Delta 180 program, the Joint Air Force/Navy Airborne Interceptor Experiment (ABIE) program, the U.S. Army Hera target program, the AltAir Ballistic Air Launched Target program, and most recently, the atmospheric...
